I am looking for a way to allow a user to View Alarm Help, without being able to modify it. From what I have found, in DeltaV help, the user needs to be given sitewite CAN CONFIGURE privileges just to view. However, it gives the user the ability to modify as well. Am I missing something? Please advise.

For Alarm Help there is a separate set of security keys as shown below (sorry for the french into picture, but I think it's easy to translate)
the default assignement of this key is as below
these keys are independent of the other key, just distribute them as your needs . To do this, open DVEXplorer and go to Setup/Security/function security properties ( same thing for SIS function Security)

playing with these key, allow you to assign different and separate rights on the different fields composing all alarm help data
for example you can allow operator to modify nothing, allow operator managers to modify recommended action and time to respond. It can be very usefull to allow managers to update instructions to the next shift depending of the plant operation/maintenance conditions
