Deltav operate

need to import my plant pic folder into delta operate to simulate but each time i copied the pic folder and paste into graphics -ifix and open deltav operate i get a compile error and visual basic scrips opens. my plant  pic pictures is on version 7.2 while simulate is 11.3 for the fhx system files i did a migrate and import everything works fine except deltav operate run. pls advice

  • Hi,
There are significant changes in DeltaV operate since V8.4 and therefore replacing the PIC folder with an old version will not work.

There is a Knowledge Base Article available with describes all the changes and what to do in case of an upgrade.

Copy only custom graphics, faceplates, detail faceplates and trend graphics. Also copy the user.fxg and siglobals.fxg to the simulate station.
If usersettings.grf exist in the pic/standard folder then this must be recreated from the default user.grf on the simulation station.

thanks a lot i did as you said and got results the only issue now is that some text are not displaying in thier real colour as in my plant eg the instruments tags
  • In reply to molly:

This is probably due to changed color tables in frsVariables. Do not replace the frsvariables.fxg, but change or add the colour tables manually. You can find them under Globals.
Check the animation of the instrument tag to figure out which colour table is used.

It is not a good practice to change anything in frsVariables as this file is replaced at al
most every upgrade and with some hotfixes as well. Rather use colour tables in user.fxg for customization. However, if yours is already changed you need to keep updating the colortables in frsVariables.
  • In reply to Pieter Degier:

i could not locate colour tables in frsvariables in global but what i did was run quick edith of the original graphics and when click on any text object select animation from aditional animation i
select configure then colour tab clicking on the browse colour and from colour set, it shows SHELL but this is not the case in simulate, in simulate it shows system default.
  • In reply to molly:

If you are in the color animation tab you need to click on the advanced button and check if there is a shared lookup object if there is none then no shared colour tables are used. In that case the object will use the colors as configured in the color animation tab.
Another way to check it, is to open the properties window of the animation field in the system tree. Check the field SharedTableName if anything is filled in.

Hello molly~ Thanks for adding your expertise to the community. If you would like to add a photo to your post, follow these quick steps:

    1. Under YOU posts and replies there is a blue button that reads More, choose EDIT

    2. Put the curser where you want the image to land and Choose the Insert/Edit Media Button from the toolbar above the test field and you'll see this graphic, upload and choose insert

    3 Click Insert

    4. Hit Post

Tip: If you are creating or editing a reply (versus a post, you will want to choose USE RICH TEXT FOMATTING at the bottom right of the grey box where you enter text- this will bring up the graphic tool bar that allows you to format your text, add photo and video, etc.)
