Is there any way to fix the detail parameter in faceplates in administrator user?

for example i need to fix the tune parameter in Detail faceplates for PID.

Thanks for your support

  • I think you should clarify your question:
    - You mean a parameter in a faceplate or in a detail window?
    - What do you means by 'fix' a parameter?

When you need to adjust the VALUE of a parameter the security as defined by FIELD / PARAMETER names is used.
  • To access tuning parameters, you will need to click the detail faceplate button on the bottom of your standard faceplate. Then you will see the tuning parameters. If you don't have the proper detail faceplate graphic assigned then it won't pop up. You can see this in the properties for the module if you need to correct it. Additionally as Maarten stated, you will have to have the proper credentials to be able to adjust tuning.

well i guess you need to modify the standard detail faceplate or create e-signature/security

    Hi hamonkhan,

When you say "Fix them"; do you mean you want the tuning parameters to be set back to their "default values"?
If yes, How many module instances do you want to do this for?

If you are administrator, then open the module in control studio in run mode (there is a button on faceplate for this). Locate the tuning paratemet. In the property window, you will see current & default values of the parameter.
You can set the value back to default value. This is manual way & may take long time & efforts to check all changed tuning parameters.

Alternative way is to download the module. This will ask you about "If you want to upload the changes on parameter values" with a changed parameter list, & you can chose to not do so. But if the process/plant is running, I would suggest strong precautions while doing that.

    Best Regards,
    Amod.
  • There are two easy options to accomplish this. The first one is to remove the key in the user manager so that your operator accounts don't have access to configuration. The second is you can add a parameter in control studio that writes to the tuning parameters you don't want changed. Doing this would override the faceplate tuning parameter regardless of user account/privileges. Then the only way to adjust them would be from within Control Studio. They would still be online parameters. Hope this helps.
