DeltaV 13 or 12 bits resolution

We are using VIM2 cards with the Generic Ethernet Scanner to communicate DeltaV 12.3.1 with variable speed drives.

We are wondering about the resolution of the speed reference we are sending from DeltaV to the variable speed drives via the VIM2 card. We would like knowing if our resolution is fine enough to make fine speed adjustments.

Do we have 13 or 12 bits resolution from DeltaV to the drives?

  I think we need some more information to answer your questions.
  1) What is the Data Type that the speed reference is setup to use? (32 bit int, float, 16 bit int, etc...)
  2) What type/brand of Drives?
  3) How fine of a resolution are you trying to achieve?
  
  If your issue is more pressing, your best course of action is always to give Mynah tech support a call.
