Search all graphics for a particular string

I have a tremendous amount of graphics updates that need to be done. The same information may appear on several graphics. I am looking for a quick way to search all graphics for certain strings or links. I have not been able to find a way to do this either with DeltaV operate configure or with an external program. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tim

I would contact Neil Bywater of Intuitive Engineering Solutions. I know he has a tool that can export graphics to xml. Not sure about costs or licenses.

  • PCSD has developed a utility named "Dynamo Replacement and Bulk Edit utility (DRU_BE)" which can be useful to fulfill your requirements. This utility is posted on a DeltaV Tools Share Community and is accessible to Emerson engineers only.

A quick feature of this utility is described below:

The Dynamo Replacement and Bulk Edit Utility (DRU_BE) is a tool with which PCSD Dynamos on existing graphics can be replaced with the dynamos of later versions. This tool supports replacement of dynamos PCSD v12a onwards. This tool also supports bulk editing of static and dynamic graphics objects.

    1. The tool can edit following properties in bulk for a set of process displays:

    a. Animation source of data-link objects

    b. Captions of text objects

    c. Foreground, background and edge color of static objects

    d. SharedTableName property of objects

    e. Destination graphics name specified in the navigation buttons

    2. Update options of dynamos like

    a. Interlock Info

    b. Permissive Info

    c. Alarms

    d. Inactive Alarms

    e. Display Tag

    f. Lock Info

    g. Acquire Info

    h. PV Info

    i. Mode

    j. “No” Symbols

    k. Show Limits

    l. Invert

    m. HM/SM Bypass Indication

    n. Fail Safe Options

    3. The tool can update the module name configured in dynamos and execute dynamo OK script. This feature is useful for creating copies of unit graphics for another unit.

    4. It also provides a consolidated report of graphics configuration in XML format. This report can be opened in a tabular format using Microsoft Excel editor (can find this editor within utility folder).

    5. The tool can also execute Dynamo OK script independently.

Agree this DRU_BE utility does work well for this purpose, but as Nilesh says unfortunately Emerson Engineers only (officially).

Thanks Steve. The Intuitive ifix to xml toolbox file is posted to the Emerson Exchange utilities page, unfortunately that version has a bug in it.

The corrected version is available from our Intuitive website, you just need to request a username to download so we know who is using the utility. Use of the tool is shown in a video on our youtube channel here https://youtu.be/aAAYDrsKKK4
