Wireless keyboard and mouse for operator control

Hi,

We are interested in replacing the operator keyboards and mouses into wireless to reduce the wiring and cabling.

Does anyone have experience with this? If so you, what measures did you took?

Regards,

  • We have one on an engineering workstation (used by maintenance for AMS) and I would never want to subject an operator to the often unreliable / temperamental behavior. Perhaps there are more reliable and better quality solutions.

Who will you put in charge of checking batteries / replacing them on a proactive basis? I don't want that job. Being the janitor of Microsoft security updates and virus signatures is enough.

The enterprise's investors are expecting our operators to look after many millions of dollars of equipment and production capability, as well as the safety of everyone on the site. I would rather have the certainty of wires (remove the uncertainty of wireless) from the many possible malfunctions that might interfere with the operator's duties.
