OPC DA clients number limit

Hi All

I'm looking for any document where I can find if there is any limit for number of OPC DA clients connected to App station?

my understanding is that the limit is for number of values per second

Supporting sustained communication rates of up to 30,000 real-time values per second, the DeltaV OPC Data Server delivers fast, secure, reliable communications to client applications on the same machine or anywhere on your network. Scalable from 250 to 30,000 data values.

but not for the number of clients.

I know that there is a license to extend the number of HDA connections up to 25, but not for OPC DA

Could you please provide me some more details about it?

  From past experience 32 seems to be the limit from what I've found in diagnostics. Previously, we had poorly design OPC clients making multiple connection requests for new data items, without closing down old connections. After reaching 32 connections, other OPC clients could not connect. Therefore, 32 seems to be the limit as per DeltaV 11.3 experience.

  Dawid, There is no published maximum OPC DA connection quantity, but I can tell you the Emerson product testing was done with 100 concurrent connections with aggregate demand for 30,000 data values.

  Hi Dawid,
  Just as info, it's 30.000/sec for OPC read parameters. For OPC write parameters, the number is 2.000/sec.
