PBL Library AI_SOFT password protected

Dear Engineers,

our plant works with  PBL Library (DV 11.3), I need to modifies our _AI block, when I want to save my modification  a Pop Up shows that I need to modifies my AI_SOFT block.

Unfortunately, this block is Password Protected.

Our Emerson Support is not able to help us.

What should I do now?

Your Ideas are welcome.

Kind regards

  • What version of PBL library/module is it? It probably has been migrated up to v11 if it is password protected and won't be a v11 library module.

The revision history in the module or the module type (not subtype) should have some revision number in it (i.e. 2.6, 2.7, 5.2, etc)

Do you have an idea who or what Emerson office did the original configuration?

    Regards,
    Matt

    Hello Matt

as shown on the print screen the_ AI block was not modified since revision  4.5..... in 2005.

The plant is running since 2006. I'm only on site since 2 years.... my knowledge of what happened while and immediately after commissioning is very low.

Maybe somebody could give me some "standard" passwords to try....?

    Reagards

    Hello again,
I tried a "Handy man" solution...

    1) Export all instances of _AI_Soft (fhx).
    2) Delete the instances.
    3) Modify and save _AI (all instances are updated).
    4) Import _AI_SOFT instances (without errors).
5)Export _AI and re import, without errors.

It seams to work on my test system... but is my Database healthy, or maybe I loose some links between Modules...? What will happen at the next upgrade?
I'm not happy with this solution.
    Thank you for your advices.

    Dear Engineers,

the solution was to contact our local Emerson support, wich could give us a non password protected module version.

I will not explain here how we proced for replacing the old module with the new, but if somebody need it I could help.

    Have a nice day.
