Replace Tag Name on the Alarm Banner button

Hello All,

I'm migrating a Provox system to DeltaV Version 12.3, using DVOP.  We do not have any batch points.  When a Provox point goes into alarm, the name of the Plant Process Area appears in the alarm banner and when clicked, the workstation display is replaced by the display containing the point that's in alarm.  This is exactly what we want.  The problem is, when a DeltaV point goes into alarm, the tag name of the point appears in the alarm banner.  So when several points on the same piece of equipment, say Scrubber-5, go into alarm, the alarm banner fills with tag names that piece of equipment, cluttering the alarm banner.  I understand that DeltaV doesn't support PMAs, but is it possible to have the individual tag names replaced with either a plant area or equipment name?

  Gary, there's an area roll-up alarm parameter, like "area_a/FALMS(1).F_PRI" that changes state according to any module in the area that's in alarm. Our systems engineers modified the upper toolbar and created targets (animated squares) that light up and blink according to the area's rolled-up alarm priority and acknowledged state (blinks on new alarm, etc.). When the operator clicks on the target, the primary (level 2) display for that specific unit is displayed. I hear some people do something similar with a "soft" keyboard - a touch screen that operators use like a keyboard.
