One workstation opens the old faceplate for a module.

Running DeltaV 11.3.1, WS04 hotfix

We have 5 stations and a ProPlus in a workgroup. Recently we made a changed which faceplate is being used on a module that I'll call 2FI2000 from "A_AI" to "A_PID". When we try to open the faceplate for 2FI2000 on station 2 it opens "A_AI" while Stations 1, 3, 4, 5, and the ProPlus all open "A_PID", like they should. Station 2 was working properly yesterday when we were performing the same tasks.

We have rebooted this station, and downloaded every part that can take a download, and have done the same to the ProPlus. We have also downloaded the setup data for the controller that it is on.

I would prefer to not need to run workstation config on it again.

Does anyone know what controls which faceplate is opened for each module? Since it doesn't seem to read it from the database for each request.

  • Have you checked the Graphics-iFix\Pic\Faceplate folder in station 2 to make sure that the A_PID is still there?
  • Is the module table MODT.SCR downloaded to workstation 2? Is AutoUpdate configured to distribute setup data for that station?
  • There's a button in configure mode which looks like a white faceplate. This needs to be run to update all copies of ur faceplates. Can remember what it's called, update pop ups I think.

All stations are looking at the ProPlus for their graphics (this is a development system). I have already verified that the system in question is still set up this way.

AutoUpdate is configured for everything and MODT.SCR is there, however it does not seem to be updating properly. I have tried copying the file from the ProPlus but still have the same issue.
  • In reply to Stuart Jolley:

Faceplates have not been replicated ever. This is a development system, so we are not planning to run this tool until we feel the faceplates are at least closer to being finished.

Regardless the problem is that it is opening the wrong faceplate, not an older version of the correct faceplate.

To confirm have you tried running watchit and type the path 2FI2000/IDISP . If it says A_AI that may confirm something wrong with the modt.scr file. You could try opening that file with notepad and check which FP is linked to the module.
Another option is to just delete everything in the dvdata/download folder, don't forget to delete the yellowpages/download folder first. Then download station again.

I Just tried running watchit and it returned A_AI.
I tried changing the host on watchit to the ProPlus and it returned A_PID.
I tried Deleting the Download folders, but after doing that and downloading the station the only about 13 files, none of which were the MODT.SCR file. It still didn't work.

I have copied the download folder files from another station to fill in the gaps. Still not working.

I don't know OPC well enough to understand how the local OPC servers work, but it seems like the local server on that machine is not correctly syncing to the ProPlus or something. I've run the time sync utility and diagnostics shows roughly the same time sync delay on each machine, so I don't think it's that
  • Well, my desire to get this station working again overwhelmed my desire to find out why it broke in the first place.

I ran workstation config again. It seems to have fixed everything.

Thanks for all of the replys

    Hi everybody,Jsut a simple idea.
Did you try to launch a new PC Install on the station where there are no the good faceplates
