Graphics

Hi Everybody,

I am looking for a utility / tool which can be used to apply all the changes to graphics at once incase if we want to make the changes applicable to all of the graphics. Could any one of you direct me to where can I find the tool or utility in the DeltaV installation? Any pointers are appreciated.

Thanks,

Arun

  • Dynamo replacement utility available with PCSD can be used.

Could you please tell me where can I find this Dynamo replacement utility ?
  • What changes are you referring to? Alarm colors? PV values? Most elements of a graphic can be animated and tied to a system-wide value. DeltaV color themed dynamos are an example of this. If you construct your graphics using these dynamos or similarly animated dynamos, then you can change the system-wide color palette by changing a single color table in DeltaV Operate Configure. The Dynamo Replacement Wizard is part of the standard DeltaV Operate toolbox. Search Books Online (BOL) for "dynamo update" (including the quotation marks.) The Dynamo Update button is in the Workspace toolbox, DeltaV_Utilities toolbar.

    Ben,

My requirement is to change the color themes for all the graphics from one color to another. I would like to know if I can do it at once so that it is reflected for all graphics. Similarly the resolution also needs to be changed.

Read up on Threshold Tables in DeltaV Operate help. This will tell you how to link many objects to a common global User color table. Changing screen resolutions isn't as straightforward. DeltaV Operate will scale the main graphic to the area available on the screen designated for it. When you change screen resolutions, you change the aspect ratio of that graphic in the runtime environment. For example, let's say you develop all of your graphics in 1280x1024 (4:3 aspect ratio). Later you decide you want to move to 1680x1050 widescreen (16:10 aspect ratio). Your "square" 4:3 graphics will be stretched on the new monitors. You have two options: open a blank widescreen template graphic and copy/paste from your old 4:3, or you can modify the Operate layout to place supplemental information to the right of the main operator graphic, leaving it in 4:3. The "DefaultHorizontal_1680x1050.Layout" does the latter. In DeltaV Operate Books Online, look in Operator Basics and Graphics Configuration->Managing the DeltaV Operate environment->Customizing the DeltaV Operate environment->The Layout Templates. Read that topic then follow the hyperlink to "Working with Pictures - Widescreen Monitors".
