Sample pictures

We'd like to remove unnecessary sample pics from our operator stations. Somewhere along the way we thought that some of these pictures can't be deleted. Does anyone know what can and cannot be deleted from the Graphics\iFix\Pic folder? Some of these seem to be Batch control related, and we are a continuous operation, some seem to be sample graphics.

Any help is appreciated, Mark

  • Hi Mark,

Well the pictures you have listed are the default DeltaV pictures that exist in the PIC directory when you install the DetlaV software. Following are some quick comments on the purposes:

SamPlant, SamBoiler, SamMixer, SamField : These are sample pictures and won't cause any issue for system functioning.

Other Batch Related Pictures: These pictures are used in the DeltaV Operate to operate batch related functios such as loading a batch onto Batch Executive, Batch Alarms etc.

For the Batch related pictures as well, they won't cause any system failures as such if you delete them, but being standard pictures, they also don't cause any harm to the system if they are present. It seems like your DeltaV Operate is already well set and working properly. So I would keep them in the Pic folder. If you really want to get rid of them for some reason, then just take a backup of them and delete them from the PIC as well as yellowpages directory in order to remove them from the system permanently.

Additionally, please note that if you go through upgrade of the system/ reinstallation of DeltaV for some reason, these pictures will be back in the PIC folder by default.
