DeltaV Version 13 Controllers

What controllers are supported in DeltaV Version 13?  I probably don't know where to look but I have not found any information about that online.  What I am specifically wondering about are MD Plus controllers which will soon be transitioning to "Supported" status.  Another question might be what is the difference between "active" and "supported" status.

  • We don't have published information on the final list of hardware support for v13 yet, but I can at least give you the definitions of the various statuses.

Current: The most current product offered, with published pricing, normal lead times, and complete support. These products are recommended for all new systems and major expansions.

Active: Products that have been functionally replaced by the most current product, but remain available with published pricing, normal lead times, and complete support. These products are intended for expansion of existing systems where the need for product consistency outweighs the features, performance, and longer-term potential of the current product. The transition to Active Status marks the start of the product support commitment.

Supported: Product support is available, but oriented to maintenance (i.e., Technical Support, replacement parts, repairs and field services) rather than system expansion. System Lifecycle Planning is encouraged to address long-term support and expansion.

Retired: These products are not available for purchase. Product support is limited and on a paid-for annual agreement basis, potentially slower and more costly, and subject to material and labor availability. The transition to Retired Status marks the completion of the standard product support commitment.

  • MD+ will be supported within the v13 product as well as MX, MQ, SD+, SX, SQ and SZ (SIS) controllers.

Here is my easiest way to explain the status:
Active means you can buy them but aren't the current product (functional replacement exists).
Supported means that they aren't being produced and you can only buy them while Emerson has them in Stock.
Both are supported with replacement parts and repairs.
  • In reply to Kartik29:

Yes you can use EIOC with MD+ with the v13 release.
The EIOC is similar to a controller (modules are assigned to reference the IO) and the MD+ will just communicate with it as it needs just like it would be doing with another controller node.
