I implemented electronic signatures and would like to avoid having empty comments when confirming an action. Is there a way to make sure that there is at least one character in the comment field when the user clicks on OK?

I've seen it done, but you need to write some custom VBA code for it.
For our project, we decided that it is not needed. After all, if you are not able to enforce a policy for the operators to give meaningful details, then instead of empty comments you will get one-character comments :)
If you are just afraid that they will click OK accidentally, put a policy which requires password entry when commenting (built-in functionality, no custom code needed).

I tried to find how to modify this window, but I'm not sure I found the good one, and don't find how to modify it.

Hi Jalvarez,
are you sure that DeltaV accepts an empty box to confirm an action? I am pretty sure that by using Electronic Signatures you have to enter at least 1 character. Of course that one can be a space-character as well...so you have the same situation, but as Istvan said, the operators have to be learned how to provide an acceptable entry.

Yes empty comment is accepted. And by simply pressing "enter" the window is validated!
