Printing SFC to be readable

I need to document the SFC for all of my phases and I am having trouble keeping the SFC within the margains of a page.

The problem is some of my phases are very wide and in order to fit on a 11x17 page, the SFC has to be shrunk to a point where you can't read the comments or step/transition names. I can not hand in the SFC if the width spans more than one page.

Is there a way I can keep the SFC width while stil making the comments readable?

  • Why not print across multiple sheets vertically? Print 11x17 landscape and specify fit to 1 pages wide by X pages tall. If you specify enough tall pages, the 17" width will be the limiter of your print size.

There are a couple of external methods you could look at.  RE Mason, the Local Business Partner for Emerson, has an application named Documentor, that documents SFC's and PLM's to both Visio and Excel:

    www.remservices.com/.../documentor

Informetrics has an application named AgileDoc that not only documents SFC and PLM configuration, it will also document function block logic:

    www.informetric.com/.../index.html

Both of these applications use an FHX export of the configuration as a starting point

Do you have contact information for Mason (if he is still around)? The link you provided doesn't go anywhere. Pardon my bumping an old thread.
