DeltaV Live: Read Text width Online

Hello,

 

I would like to know if there is a way to get the width of a group or text in DeltaV Live online.

 

As shown in below screenshots, I have a text which is updated online. However in the console window I can see the Width stays the same.

Seems this the width of the test configured offline.

Is there any other parameter or attribute that I can read to get the online width.

    The text box is not auto-sizing based on the text so it has to be either set to the width of the maximum width you want to show or you would have to have an animation or function set the width dynamically.

    • Note: If you use Data Link instead of Text then if the text doesn't fit you will get a "..." that will show the entire text as a tooltip when mouse is hovered over it.

    Just be aware that you may have to also do horizontal positioning as well as it looks like you are using Center text alignment.
