update software revision of controller

Dear All

I have big issue. Is it necessary to update software revision of controller when upgrade deltav software?  if don't update the software revision of controller, does it make problem to download?

  Hello.
  When deltav software is upgraded, it is necessary update software revision of controllers.
  If software revision of controllers is not upgraded, you will not be able to download any controller.
  I/O could be upgraded after or in a scheduled shutdown plant.
