Fisher DLC3010 for Interface Level

Still have a Fisher DLC3010 for Interface Level in a Electrostatic Treater.   Here recently when the operators are testing the Interface level and drain the bridle chamber from the bottom, we have to go through a complete recalibration.  Are there any recommendations for this issue, whether it be adding a drain valve on the side slightly above the bottom of the bridle chamber, or a replacement.

    Draining off the process fluids from the chamber will not affect the calibration of the DLC3010. What did the operators observe/experience from the DLC3010 measurement when they refill the process fluids back to the chamber? Was the output off by a fix offset value?

    If the process fluids remain unchanged, it is not necessary to recalibrate the DLC3010. However, if the process fluids are different from before draining, then a reconfiguration (to change to new density values and recalibration are required.

    You were saying this is for interface application. This means that the displacer must always be covered by either of the two fluids in the chamber. There must not be a time that the displacer is covered by the two fluids and air (this will be double interface) as displacer will not be able to measure the level.

    Thanks for your response. The offset was not a fixed value it varied, and the process fluid remained the same. We end up going through a complete calibration as if it is an initial install. We have a vessel cleaning coming up and this will give us an opportunity to fully inspect the float and linkage. The next time this happens I will get some actual values to submit. More to come.

    Hi Steve,

    Can you let me know the torque tube material used (written on nameplate) and also check the value of the torque rate the next time it happens (in handheld communicator, go to manual setup -> sensor -> torque tube -> torque rate)? This value should not change after draining and refilling the bridle chamber. If this value changes, the output will be affected.
