Scheduling tools are expected features in MES

Scheduling is becoming intertwined with MES.  What is the best S95 layer for doing scheduling?  Is it the MES, ERP, or even the process control level?  Does anyone have an example of scheduling using Syncade or DeltaV?

  For basic plant scheduling, the ERP is the best solution. For finite scheduling, it is should be down at Layer 3 and the specific site. The leading MES brands have that functionality built into their solution. Syncade to my knowledge still lacks the feature and capability.
