Library migration

Hello, I am a retired automation engineer and now working as volunteer at Scalda Technical school on a Emerson DeltaV system version 13.3.1 Build 6309.

This is a new system, the old system version 7.4 Build 4393 will be replaced. I managed to program all IO in the system but I can not migrate the old

Fieldbus Library, this is essential for the system to work. I used the migrate tool to upgrade the old library to 13.3.1 but when I select Import in the explorer, the library

does nor show up in the tree and is not placed elsewhere. I have a registered system and it looks like the Library map is not available for me.

I imported other objects all IO with the same procedure and that worked fine, and is visible in the explorer.

If you know a way to fix this , all help is welcome, thank you.

  Has Fieldbus I/O been enabled in System Preferences?

  On the Proplus there is an Application call System Preferences. You will have to enable Fieldbus (and maybe others) to actually be able to see the fieldbus information.
  
  After you enable this you will have to follow the instructions that are presented which is shutting down the Database Server from Database Administration application and both of these applications are found in DeltaV Engineering.

  I am not sure if 7.4 Build 4393 is 7.4.1 or 7.4.2. I assuming it is base 7.4, the system should have upgraded in the following sequence(s):
  
  Option 1: Apply 7.4 SP1, then apply 7.4 SP2, then upgrade to 10.3, apply SP1, then 12.3.1, and then 13.3.1
  Option 2: Upgrade to 7.4.2, then 9.3.1, then 11.3.1, then 13.3.1.
  
  This way, all your fhx and other supporting device definitions are migrated along the way.

  Hello, thank you all for the replies, I selected Fieldbus and restarted the database, it works now. I am switching from ABB to DeltaV and it is quite different, thanks again

  Emerson told me you need virtual machines to do this and it is more work then reprogramming, it is a test facility with only 100 I/O, thkx

  DeltaV ships with a lot of DD files from other vendors. There are few cases where you have to import DDs manually.
