I've started applying a recent workstation hotfix and this one (WS_05) has numerous other piecemeal patches that must be removed first. In days of yore, all of these could be uninstalled and the new patch installed without having to reboot. I think I would install all the Microsoft patches too - then reboot in one fell swoop. Any idea why the new constraint? It's already disruptive to apply patches and hotfixes, and having to do multiple reboots just makes the whole ordeal take longer.
Running 14.3.1 on a number of stand-alone (non-virtual) workstations and servers. W10 / Server 2016.
Update . . . after failing to fully read the "readme", I see where the hotfix installer now features "automatically uninstall incompatible hotfixes". Sadly I skipped straight to the list and began squinting at "Programs and Features".

The installer that uninstalls the incompatible hotfixes is a nice feature. UDEP?
Dodging dodgey viruses / social distancing. Important espcially for those who can remember the "days of yore".
