User Profile

Good Day,

At our plant, we have a EWS and a AWS which runs on administrator password. Our process engineers require access to the AWS for plant related data on a daily basis. As it is easy to make changes with the administrator account, we were thinking of creating another account for them to log on just for viewing privileges and nothing more. However, when a new account is created in Windows User Accounts, and assign a password for them, the data is no longer stored when viewed from same account.

Do we have to use Delta V Accounts Manager to assign permissions for this Windows User Account.

  • It appears you have a work group. Is this correct?
The user needs to be created in DeltaV Manager to give him access to DeltaV related data and the windows user must be in the DeltaV group to gain windows privileges. In a workgroup the user is local to the computers. If the user logs on to the EWS and accesses data via his interactive login, the windows account must be created on both stations with the same password. The Deltav user privileges are set in the deltav database and are downloaded via setup data download and yellow pages(auto update service).

If you are in a domain DeltaV usermanager creates the domain windows user and DeltaV user all at the same time.
