Operators have "always on top" for PHV routinely. Confusion / irratation ensues when popup dialogs (e.g., confirmation following a DataLink in-place change) appear on the upper monitor.
In prior versions, the ATI display driver / "Hydravision" had recommended settings, and you could make all (?) popups appear, for example, where the cursor is.
In Windows 7 / 13.3.1 I'm not even sure we're supposed to Catalyst Control Center / Hydravision running. We do . . .
I see there is a setting to make dialogs appear on a certain screen in a multi-screen desktop. I discovered that "Catalyst Control Center" does not number screens the same as Windows, e.g. we have configured two-screen monitors under Windows such that the upper screen is "1" and the lower screen is "2", plus screen two is the "primary". Somehow this suffices to get "Operate" to load as we desire (per Layout files, etc.)
Catalyst Control Center does not see things this way, perhaps number according to which DisplayPort jack on the "AMD FirePro W2100 Graphics Adapter" each monitor is plugged into . . . upper screen is 2 and lower is 1.
Hydravision can be found in the CCC and an option can be configured for dialog repositioning - which appears to obey the CCC screen identies on both Windows and DeltaV desktops.
Is this the way to control dialog repositioning in 13.3.1? The only KBA I could find was NK-1100-1054, which shows our hardware:
CCC says it's running 13.352.1009-140520a-173377C-Dell. Hydravision does not show an option "show at cursor" like the screen capture in the KBA.
Is this still the Guardian endorsed way to provide dialog repositioning? Should I uninstall the Catalyst Control Center (which shipped with the DeltaV Workstation - we never installed it) and download the "Hydravision" in the KBA link?
