Operator windows access

We are using DeltaV version 12.3.1 and do not have a domain.  The OPERATOR account does not have windows access enabled, but I want to give the Operator the ability to reboot the workstation if it is required.  Is this possible without enabling Windows access?

  • They can access Log Off Windows by clicking on the upper left corner of the Flexlock window, but I don't see any reboot option, at least on V11.3.

This is a security feature enabled during workstation's hardening which is applied when DeltaV is installed. The settings related to Windows shutdown are set in Windows Local Policies when in Workgroup. I would not recommend changing these settings as they will reduce the protections on your system. You can request support from our Performance Services team to adjust these settings (to a certain extent) to meet your company's security policies.
  • Once DeltaV Operate has been closed and you are looking at the DeltaV desktop with just Flexlock visible, try Ctrl + Alt + Del. On our workstations this brings up a standard Windows 7 dialogue which has a red button at the bottom right. The small arrow to the right of the button gives shutdown and reboot options.
