AMS Device Manager Link on Device Faceplate Graphic

I am trying to add a link to our Hart instruments on their Faceplate graphics that automatically open the device in AMS when clicked on.  I have the VB script correct I believe but I am having trouble reading the AI1/IO_IN parameter and getting the DST information (LX-12308) I need to open in AMS.  I am trying to build a template so I don't have to go back and reconstruct every analog device in our plant.  I know if shows up in Control Studio, I just don't know how to get the information out of it and put it in a string format (AI1/IO_IN.xxx).

  I have found this information on Emerson Exchange so I believe you should be able to do this in some fashion.

  Have you looked at the button already on the device faceplate that launches AMS? It may provide some insight as to how the launch code has to be.

  Yes but it seems to be reading a “device_tag” parameter that is a string already configured for that module template. The modules I am looking at are standard AI and I was hoping to read the dst into a parameter dynamically without needing to go back and type in each dst individually for every hart device we have.

  Could you bulk edit the two fields then copy/paste the tag to populate the field initially for your existing modules. It would not be dynamic, but it would be quick. Or could you make the “device_tag an internal reference parameter that hits the dst tag of the existing AI block?

  I have thought of both of these ideas. The bulk edit may be the easiest and quickest. I couldn’t get the device_tag reference to work for the dst.

  The IO assignments are not a runtime parameter so you will have to duplicate the configuration in a parameter like has been suggested.
