Unlok Computer (Kerpware Client ) Locked Out while trying to use DeltavAdmin password

A field -Watch computer running Kerpware as client is in the same network as the OPC Server(runs Kerpware Server and DeltaV OPC) . We use DeltavAdmin account to log unto the Field- Watch computer which reports flow rate of flow computers to the  Kerpware Server /DeltaV OPC Server computer. The Proplus is a different computer in this network and the AMS is also a different computer in same LAN network. The DeltaV system is V11.3

How do I unlock the DeltaVAdmin user account in the Field Watch computer after being locked out for trying a wrong password for the DeltaVAdmin account?

  • Hello,

Well, you have yourself in a bad situation. Please stop logging in as the DeltaVAdmin account, for this very reason. This is a DeltaV service account and should _never_ be used in such a manner. Do you have a reason you use this account to log in?

It is best a practice to create another user account for OPC communications. This account can be created using User Manager and only needs "View Only" or "Operate" permissions ( I forget which).

To recover from your situation, log into the computer as another user who has administrative privileges and unlock the account via the Windows user manager interface.

    Good luck,
    Dave
