Alarm Count for a Unit

I have been asked to make a graphic indication when any alarm is detected at a Unit level (any module in the unit container has an active alarm).  The units in the case are simply used as an organizational system, they are not batch units. This is DeltaV 12.3.1.

I was able to locate a thread that talked about determining the alarm count at an area level (DVSYS.AREANAME/ALMCNT.F_CV), but I cannot seem to get it to work for a Unit.

The alarm summary object can filter by Unit, so I assume there must be some way to get at this data.

Thank you,

Dave

  • I believe you might need the Advanced Unit Management feature to do this... not positive but you might check it out. probably knows the answer.
  • The format for using an EM or Unit counting is DVSYS.U$/EM_UNIT_TAG/ALMCNT.F_CV (Yes it's not just Units)

You can find documentation/information like this on the DeltaV Tab on Expression Builder and clicking the Help on Display Parameters button.

Ah ha! I've been looking for that documentation and have apparently been looking past it every time. I thought it would be in BOL...
