I'm a newbie to DeltaV System. We're using DetlaV 8.4. What I need is to organize Process History View to store the Event Chronicle for a period of one year. Where should I set the right configuration?
In order to store a year of events on the Active data set, you need to determine the storage requirements for a year of data. Then enter that value into the 'Active Event History Data Set Storage Target' field on the Alarm and Event Properties dialog for the EC. If you have a few months of runtime under stable conditions and can extrapolate what a year will require, then throw in an extra 20% or so. Of course, you may be able to see more than a year. The maximum size is 4000 MB.
As far as sizing the Current datasets for a year, I think that would be great, but at present the system only allows specification of a maximum of 1 month span on those, or disable data set time span and go off of your yearly estimate for Current Event History Data Set Size Target.
You can export datasets and specify a time range, then re-attach the export as an extended data set, getting you more management of 1 dataset = 1 year.
