Opening 7 different Faceplates from 1 Dynamo

Dear All,

We have a requirement of opening 7 different Faceplates ( for 7 different modules) from 1 Dynamo present on Operator Interface.

Has anybody worked or has developed such kind of requirement.?

Please kindly inform and share the details.

Thank you very much for your help and support.

  • Hi

Faceplate selection does not depend on dynamo, but depends on detail faceplate assign to each module.

You only have to call the OpenFaceplate routine.

    Or I didn't understand your problem ...

    Dear Mr. Jack,

In Operator interface, when we click on dynamos it opens 1 particular Faceplate based on module name assigned to that Dynamo.

In above mentioned case, we have a set of 7 Fixed Modules (A to G) whose faceplate should get open at same time on same monitor once you click the dynamo.

I hope this might help you to understand our requirement more.

Used PCSD standard Group Display Template to solve the issue.

PMO website has standard PCSD Group display template having faceplate place holders for pre-defined modules. When you open this graphics and call up the Group Display Graphic, all the faceplate holder get populated.

    Ashish,

I believe that I having the same issue as you were but am not able to follow your resolution. You were able to download a template from a website and then import it to your system? I am having trouble finding the website. Thanks in advance.

    Hello tklatt,

Sorry for delayed reply as I am currently not available on Forum. You can download the Group Display Graphics Template from PMO website. The files will be zipped. you just need to unzip and follow the instructions as given inside. There are 2 templates based on resolution you have for graphics. Hope it helps.

    Hello Gentlemen,

Please find attached link to download Group Display Tool : pcsd.emersonprocess.com/home.asp

Download the tool by clicking on :  •Group Display Tool (v11a; v10a)

All the details regarding how to use the tool and create the displays is provided in one of the download file.  Do read all the details carefully and then proceed with the execution !!

    What tool does is :

    1. Allow you to create a GRAPHICS with faceplates place holders on it (1 to max 10 faceplates on the graphics at one time) which you want to open simultaneously. This will be dedicated faceplate graphics which you can then assign to your button/dynamo and apply Open picture expert to call up this faceplate graphics.

    2. Do remember a slight drawback of this method is it will load the graphic a lot and whenever you open this graphics it will open very slowly.

    3. You will not have the entire faceplate on graphics, major part of it. Pushpin, Alarmbanner and multimonitor buttons will get removed.

    4. This tool crops default faceplates (Faceplates to be cropped can be selected by User depending on the faceplate of Devices which he wants to open simultaneously) and saves a copy of them in separate folder under FP. When you open the Graphic created from this Group display tool, it will refer to this folder to open instances of faceplates  for devices which you have have set in configure mode for this graphics.

    4. If you have custom faceplate which does'nt fit properly on graphics after being croped by the tool then you can just modfiy the script for the tool to select area for cropping as per your requirement. (Need to modify VB code and run the tool again, cropping value is saved under a name and not a parameter in script)

I hope this information will help. Thank you.
