How I can calculate the " efficiency " of a compressor or a pump ?

I need  caculate the efficiency of a compressor and bombs, i think use the folw of gas or liquid versus energy, caloric power, temp, pressure.

Can i use another variable?? or  do it for other way?

  • Hi Carlos.

To calculate the efficiency of a pump or a compressor, you need to divide the hydraulic or fluid power gained by the power consumed by the pump or compressor.

The fluid power is usually calculated by multiplying the flow rate times the change in pressure or enthalpy. Make sure to check your units to verify you have actually calculated a power unit (i.e., energy per unit time) when you get done.
