Sand in oil production - control valve solution

Sand is commonly present in the oil and water streams coming from the 3-phase separators.  As the separators are pressurized, the separator letdown valves commonly need to overcome high pressure drop cavitation problem.  Unfortunately, conventional anti-cavitation valve design, which utilize small orifices to eliminate cavitation experiences plugging and erosion problem when sand or other particulate quantity is high in the fluid stream.  The same problem also occurs in some water injection valves where the pressure is very high, coming from the water injection pump.

If you are facing the same problem, you may want to look at the Fisher control valve solutions below.
