SAP Transactions with Syncade in Life Sciences – Goods Receipt

In previous post entitled SAP Transactions with Syncade in Life Sciences – Overview the basics behind the SAP to Syncade interface and transaction was provided. This post provides more detail on the general requirements associated with the Goods Receipt transaction used create outputs such as work in process (WIP) and finished goods and transfer those outputs to SAP.

When outputs are created in Syncade for work-in-process and finished product materials that are managed in SAP, a corresponding Goods Receipt transaction is completed in SAP.  This can occur as each container is created in Syncade, in turn creating a corresponding credit to inventory  posted by the interface to SAP real-time. When performing the Goods Receipt transaction in SAP the following rules may apply depending on the established business logic and the actual requirements:

  • Labels will be created in Syncade for each container produced.
  • Work-in-process materials will be maintained in Syncade until such time as they are consumed in subsequent steps in the process.
  • The inventory for finished products will be created in a designated goods receiving location in the SAP.
  • Finished goods will be manually moved from the designated goods receiving location to a warehouse location in SAP.  Syncade inventory will be relieved for the product.
