In previous post entitled SAP Transactions with Syncade in Life Sciences – Overview the basics behind the SAP to Syncade interface and transaction was provided. This post provides more detail on the general requirements associated with the Transfer Orders download transaction used to move material between SAP and Syncade.
Transfer orders contain the information needed to carry out the physical movement of material between locations. When interfacing with SAP, inventory is managed exclusively in SAP until it is transferred to Syncade. To initiate receipt in Syncade, a SAP transfer order is created and confirmed in SAP that moves the material containers from SAP warehouse locations to a designated Syncade receiving location. Only those transfer orders that include a move to the Syncade receiving area and that include material which is to be managed in Syncade are downloaded. During receipt into Syncade the material containers are created with a total inventory amount equal to the amount on the transfer order. In some instances individual containers can be created in Syncade.
