DeltaV track: Fieldbus version of EIM electric actuators?

Over in the DeltaV track, Jay Colclazier asks:

Does anyone out there have any experience with EIM Tech 2000 motorized actuators?  I am particulary interested in the Foundation Fieldbus version.  Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any wisdom you can share with Jay.

  • I don't have any experience with the EIM Tech 2000 but researching this a little here is what I might suggest. I would check with some of the customer experts with Foundation Fieldbus for their input. I see that Jay is on LinkedIn. I suggest Jay pose the question to the following experts.

Why not contact these guys on LinkedIn:

Chuck Carter, Director at the Foundation Fieldbus Training Center

David Lancaster, Director at Tri State Foundation Fieldbus Training Center

Mike Clark, Director at Bus Corp Inc.

John Rezebek, Process Controls Specialist at ISP

Give these guys a shout. I bet you will get some answers or at least they will get you closer.

The product manager at EIM is Bob Healey so he might be willing to share some success stories. You can get more information (phone and email) by going to the products page at www.fieldbus.org.

  • In reply to Rick Osborn:

Rick, I've also sent a note to the Valve Automation team to see if one of their folks can provide or share information back with me to post.

  • Jay/Jim - Two more good resources would be Ron Dieter @ Dieter.Ronald [at] eim-co.com & Tom Johnson @ Johnson.Tom [at] eim-co.com.  They are both experts at EIM & they will either be able to answer your questions or point you in the right direction.  Good Luck!

  • In reply to Benton Bacot:

I received feedback from the EIM team of installations in refineries, water injection processes, and mining operations. These are located in the US, Middle East, and Australia. Connect with Ron or Tom above for specifics.

  • I came accross this website to read more info on this great product: www.directindustry.com/.../electric-actuator-60992.html
