Can the Foundation Fieldbus version of the EIM electirc Actuator go into explosive area? Is there such a thing as a IS version of this actuator? What about the FF components - do they need special IS models?
EIM electric actuators are available with weatherproof and/or explosionproof enclosures. The motor, terminals and all controls including FF are fully enclosed within the actuator. Also as a 1 phase or 3 phase power is required for the motor IS is not applicable.
The model shown above is the TEC2000 which is non-intrusive. This means that all of the configuration and setup is done through the local display panel without the need to remove any covers. The terminal chamber is also double sealed with a seal behind the connector so the integrity of the actuator is nver compromised if the terminal cover is removed.
