when i connect jumper between therminal 1 and 2, the reading becomes normal,
why this issue happen?
can anyone illustrate?

  • The 248 has the capabilities in 4-wire mode to notify you when a sensor lead is broken or not connected. By jumping pins 1&2, you simulate having a 4-wire sensor connected. Which sounds like the symptoms you are seeing. Did you check to see the configuration of the transmitter and see if the sensor type is set to 4-wire rtd vs the 3 wire sensor your using? Try changing the configuration of the device to be a 4 wire RTD and see if that helps out. ( As a note, the default settings of the 248 transmitter are 4-wire RTD when shipped from the factory. )
