DeltaV Operate Screen Layout

Dear Colleagues,

How can I find out which the Layout file is set in my DeltaV Operate Project? I am trying to custom the fields for customer requirements.

P.S. There several Layout Files in the folder: D:\DeltaV\DVData\Graphics-iFix\Local. I use single monitor at the moment.

Thanks in advance,

Kobrizo

  • Any Ideas?

1: You need to distinguish if they have a general layout file or one with a dedicated workstation name?? I assume you already know the resolution?

If you open BOL and search for layout there is a detailed explanation on how to use layout files and renaming and the order they are executed, as usersettings (PIC/Standard) also has to be taken into account .

Hi Lorraine, thanks for your reply.

The Resolution is 1680x1050. I just would like to test it on my Proplus Workstation. In the D:\DeltaV\DVData\Graphics-iFix\Local there are many of layout documents. In BOL I couldnt find any Info how to set up a layout for a workstation. I can Edit each of these files, but I see no changes on the running system.

    In Books Online v14
Operator Displays->DeltaV Operate->Managing the DeltaV Operate environment->Customizing the DeltaV Operate environment->The Layout templates

    v13 and earlier
Operator Basics and Graphic Configuration->Managing the DeltaV Operate environment->Customizing the DeltaV Operate environment->The Layout templates

Have you also clicked the reset_layout file or did you close/re-open the operator interface?
Even though your system is single head, I think the system default used would be the DefaultHorizontal_1920x1080_Dual.
To force the layout you want to be used , I would save this file and save it as as your proplusname.layout. Also update the user_ref to usersettings.grf (or as the proplus name) in the PIC/Standard directory.
Some older versions of DeltaV may need a log out/login to force the new layout file setting.
Also at the top right side of the toolbar, there is a small hammer symbol, it opens the tracebox and you can check what alarm banners, windows etc are being opened.
