DeltaV Live don't show faceplate

Hello everyone,

So we are developing some screens for our process and everything is working correctly, but sometimes the faceplate of a random equipment dosn't show up and we need to recreate the module in some way to work correctly again, the two ways that we found to solve the problem is, to delete the module on graphics studio, publish and add again, and the other is to delete the assignment and reassign again, but this dosn't look to be the better option. Did someone already came across this problem?

Thanks in advance!

  • This is a known issue. Please log a call with the GSC. This is being investigated and you will get fastest resolution by logging a call.

Current recovery is to change module display property and download. then change back to correct FP display.

    Thanks for your reply Andre.

I'll log a call with GSC about this, but just sharing, the change module display didn't work with us, we changed to a null faceplate so the link from GEM shows as "broken" and we changed back to the correct one, and still don't open.

Just to make clear, this problem, at least here, occurs with only a few workstations, the other ones work just fine.

Hi Andre - has there been a fix on this? We have performed a PK Controller download last Friday and even though the modules are downloaded, we have lost access to them from Deltav Live search. Is there another way to fix this rather than change module display and re-download? Your feedback is much appreciated.
  • Hi Bruno - did you folks encounter a better fix for this issue, other than changing Primary control fields and reverting back? Thanks.

Sorry to say, but that's the only thing known so far, it's a current issue of the system. One way to solved is the re-assignment + re-download of the module.
And one thing that it could be related with is the use of any "special" character (e.g. accents) in the name or descriptions of the modules affected. Remove them if any and verify the behaviour of the system.

by chance do you have any controllers or equipment that is in the control network but is not online? I had a similar issue a couple months or so ago. My only fix was random.. i was able to assign the modules to the Proplus and it worked, but then I'd change the assignment back to my PK controller and it wouldn't. Eventually I hooked up another controller that was created in control network but we hadn't put online. As soon as I added the controller and downloaded it.. my problem went away.. no rhyme or reason to that. But, what i'm getting at is that the fix might not be so obvious.

I have not looked for this resolution. The Software Update KBA from Guardian will list known/resolved issues and you can verify for the version of DeltaV you are running. If you are also experiencing this, logging a call with the GSC will get you the information on the fix. If you are not at the latest hot fix, you should be verifying the Software Update KBA.
