DeltaV Live

Question regarding the introduction of DeltaV Live in v14.  Will DeltaV support both graphic types running on a system, or will it require the entire graphics library conversion.  I am interested in whether we can phase in the conversion over time or not.

  Yes, both DeltaV Operate and Live will be supported to run in one machine for at least 10 years I believe. Users will have the option to either use DeltaV Operate or DeltaV Live.

  Belcon, thanks for your quick reply. Just to clarify, both types of graphics will be able to run concurrently on a system as the IFIX graphics are converted.

  Hi gxmontes , thank you for your question. As Belcon indicated, both DeltaV Live and DeltaV Operate can be run at the same time on the same DeltaV system. We encourage you to run them on separate machines and minimize doubling the load on the same machine, since they are independent clients polling data from the same nodes.

  Hi gxmontes, yes, both softwares can be run concurrently while iFix graphics are converted.

  The support for DeltaV Operator will be for 3 revisions of DeltaV (to v16) and not necessarily in years.
  
  As Camilo indicated, both interfaces can run at the same time but they still need to obey the number of total datalinks (Operate and Live) which is why he referenced doubling up the load. Just clarifying his statement to make sure you understood what was said Gilbert.

  I was under the impression that operate would be supported thru V17. Just to be crystal clear, iFix/operate will not be supported in V17?

  Yes, that is correct. DeltaV Operate will be supported with releases v14, v15 and v16 included. Coming v17, the only operator interface supported will be DeltaV Live.
