OWS showing cross in explorer

Hello Everyone.

Can anyone please tell me why my workstation (Ows9) node in DV explorer is showing a cross even though OWS9 is working fine?

I am able to download ows9 also I am able to operate process through ows9.diagnostics of ows9 also shows everything fine.

  • This might be solved by refreshing the database. Have you tried restarting the database on the PRO+ (EWS1) using the database administrator?

  • After looking closer at the posted screenshot you may want to do an update download status on the Physical Network.

    ThankYou Neil,

I have updated download status several times now.

    Still its showing cross.

Should i shutdown server and then start again..??

It looks to me like those stations aren't running DeltaV or are completely offline for some other reason. I'd try to run Workstation Config on them, first ensuring that they are powered on and connected to the domain.
  • Primary Network connected to Secondary Network Switch?
  • In reply to harnettw:

Ows8 isn't running infact it isnt connected in switch..but ows9 is running delta V and also I am able to perform all the operations of controlling process through ows9.
  • In reply to Roman Kostuniak:

Yes it is connected that's why you can see primary and secondary communication as good in diagnostics
  • In reply to Siddiqui:

Red cross means that there is no connection between (in your case) OWS9 and EWS1 (you shoot this print screen on EWS1 -> first in DeltaV Diagnostics).
What you see for example on OWS1?
    EWS1 has redundant network? OWS9?
Did you reinstall this workstation lately?
  • In reply to Roman Kostuniak:

In ows1 diagnostic everything is same as that in Ows9 the only difference is in software revision. all the station has same sw revision namely ows1,2,3,4,5,6,7,10 only ows9 and AMS1 has different software revision.

    EWS1 is redundant.

    Ows9 is redundant.

Yes i installed DV in ows9 recently.
  • In reply to Siddiqui:

Rerun Workstation Configuration. MAKE SURE you select OWS9 and check/assign Primary to Primary, Secondary to Secondary
  • In reply to Roman Kostuniak:

I have rerun workstation configuration twice already. But i will try it once more.
  • In reply to Siddiqui:

If you haven't already, please make sure you download setup data to all nodes. You could even start with downloading "changed setup data".
  • In reply to Michael Moody:

    Thank you

Michael i will try changed setup data i haven't done that yet.
  • In reply to Michael Moody:

I just downloaded setup data still its showing cross..

Should i delete this node and make a new node as ows9 and then run .cfg file on ows9 ?
