Graphics on specific valves have gone bad

Hi

I have a valve type that looks like a custom valve there are roughly 20 of these valves and this morning they all went black, instead of red and green and have tried everything to get them to go back to how they were. RED CLOSED, Green open. This error has only happened on 2 of the 6 operator stations i have the others are fine. The pro-plus is fine i tried downloading to these machines from the pro-plus and it does not take or work. I tried taking the graphics from the graphics i fix library and this does not work either.

  • I assume you are using iFix and not DV Live?

This is indicative of a problem with missing colour tables in the fxg files. Make sure User.fxg or the SIglobal.fxg on the WS exhibiting the issues are correct. If so, restart workspace to make sure the fxg files are reloaded.

Also, make sure SCU is pointing to the local directory's on the WS and not to a remote network location.
  • Thanks for the responses still having issues
I am using I fix and this is what I have done.
    1. I went to a workstation that had good graphics on it and took user and siglobal files copied them, but when I took the operator screen back to delta v operate mode the graphics changed and the valves in question appeared with the black color, after being a good color right before.
    2. I took these files from the pro-plus (graphics look good) reinstalled them on a workstation in question and still the same issue. I wonder if the pro-plus would also revert the valves to the black look instead of red and green if I exited the pro-plus operate run and reopened. I am probably not going to do that right away till I could possibly get some answers.

I am still looking at the SCU as I am not sure what that is.

Sounds like the issue has already propagated amongst your nodes, DV Operate only reads those files on a restart, so it could of happened anytime previously.

The advice given is for persons familiar with the basics of Deltav, they are not intended for new users.  Obviously if SCU is unfamiliar and if this is a live system, you should really be logging a call with GSC who will walk you through each step.

I would be reluctant to make any changes to a system without understanding which color table is missing, and to be honest you need to know where the SCU is pointing before being able to pinpoint the correct user.fxg or siglobals.fxg to troubleshoot.

Call GSC, its a simple process to resolve, but as you can see, manual changes have the potential to cause bigger problems.

  • Thanks for the advice
I went through my backups from my proplus and pulled these user.fxg and siglobal files from a month ago and installed these and it fixed my problems. Thanks for all the help everyone
