HART- Having trouble assigning field device parameters in Control Studio

Hi, I am new to the world of DeltaV and I am working on a test control strategy for a discrete valve positioning HART 7 transmitter. I am able to assign process variables to AI blocks but cannot find parameter paths for other variables that I would normally see in AMS such as dwell time, time in Open/Closed position, Cycle count, etc. In books online, I typed in "Accessing Intelligent Field Device Diagnostic Data" and was able to find information on assigning external parameter paths for Device Net, PROFIBUS DP, and Foundation Fieldbus using an internal read parameter, but not for HART.

Any recommendations?

  I don’t think there is a way to directly access device parameters by control logic.

   

  If you really need to access a device parameter you could use OPC. Connect AMS OPC server and DeltaV OPC server with DeltaV OPC mirror or similar application and you should be good.

   

  Can you explain the use case. There might be more suitable applications/solutions.
