  • Hi, you can change it through fhx file, (AREA_INDEX=XX) however be careful because all control modules inside the area will need a download.

As far as I know it can't be done through the FHX way. Only adding new area's (to fill in the gaps) can be done with a FHX file. At least up till version 12.3.1.
Only way to do this is to make an inventory of the existing index numbers and manually move all objects from one area to another. And afterwards rename the areas accordingly. It is possible to add new areas to fill in gaps or optionally leave certain areas empty to create 'dividers' in the area filter display.
  • I think it would be better to modify the Alarms Filter View. This is a locked file, so copy and create a new one, and link the tool bar to your new display. Then you can position the areas as desired. I can't remember if the fields are auto indexed or just pre-defined, but if you try to manage indexes to solve the display positioning, you introduce the need to download modules and setup data, and there could be unintended consequences where data has been stored by index and new data will not align.

Also, if you later add or want to change the display again, you have to modify and download data again, and maybe again...

The Area name and Index assignment is downloaded to every node and is found in the DVData/Download folder. So it would be possible to dynamically position the areas based on a look up table you create. Since you have one display to work out, it seems the easiest solution is to create a group with links to the Area name and alarm data, and name each group with the Area Name. Then you can easily work with each group based on its name.
