VIM Card Issues
All,
I appreciate the time to read my questions and for any help provided. Lately we are seeing some issues with our VIM (Mynah – M series) card.
It seems that the communications to the stations (remote) are good as I can easily ping them but there is intermittent loss of data which makes it seem in DeltaV that there are no communications (frozen values).
Upon looking closer I found that the Ethernet port on the switch linked to the VIM card, flashes green and intermittently flashes amber. Upon getting that checked out, our IT support told us that there was something wrong with communications between the VIM and the switch. We configured a new port on the switch and even changed the Ethernet cable connecting the switch with the VIM card. Neither of these seem to help. I was wondering if anyone had seen a similar issue and could provide constructive feedback as to how we can solve this problem.
Thanks and Regards

Hi
If it is a new VIM card there is a big chance that the Firmware of the VIM Card needs to be changed. The card is usually deliverd with some kind of Simulation Software and needs to be flashed first with I.E th Modbus TCP Driver. For exact procedure search the mynah Web Page.
