is there any utility within DeltaV that lets you search for strings in all the graphics (GRF files)?
if not, any conversion utilities to convert from GRF to something searchable?

I don't think there is a utility that will search across multiple graphics within DeltaV (although the find->replace works well within one graphic). Others who have attempted this have just written some VBA (in a graphic or in a toolbar button) that opens each graphic, loops through each item and property in the graphic, and then dumps the desired content to an xml or csv file.
