Have any one faced problem in time stamping when there are too many alarms occuring at a time??? Like during Emergency Shutdown??
In my case PSD is occuring first (as per SOE) but the First Out is ESD.
Reason for ESD is stamped after 10 to 15 secs!!!

I believe the SOE cards in DeltaV timestamp the data AT THE CARD, whereas everything else is time stamped at the historian. If you use SOE cards, BOL says you MUST use a real Time Server so they are synched to the network. I've used a Symmetricon on a few jobs and they seem to do pretty well and can broadcast on your network a Stratum 2 signal to keep everything in synch.
I recommend checking out the KBAs on the subject, as the BOL content is old and a little miss-informative.

I found the probable cause!!!
I have symmetricom server as master time sync
I found in diagnostics that few of my md controllers are not in sync.I simulated alarms in two diff controller at the same time and thr i could find the diff in SOE.
Now my question how can controllers in same network have this prblm? Among 40 controllers 7 are not in sync!!! Is thr Any way to sync particular controller?
