In previous post entitled SAP Transactions with Syncade in Life Sciences – Overview the basics behind the SAP to Syncade interface and transaction was provided. This post provides more detail on the general requirements associated with the Miscellaneous Good Issue transaction used to reduce stock in SAP when the goods are issued line side. This is typically at point of use such as consumption operations. The Miscellaneous Goods Issue transaction is commonly used in conjunction with the Quality Status Verification transaction described in a previous post SAP Transactions with Syncade in Life Sciences – Quality Status Verification.
For example during Weigh and Dispense operations, an individual container may have slightly more or slightly less material than was defined when the container was received in Syncade. Typical causes for these minor variations in quantity include but are not limited to sampling of containers upon receipt into SAP, vendor overage or underage, issue of small quantities of materials to process development or to the QC laboratory for additional evaluation. To maintain concurrence between the Syncade and SAP inventory, when these overages or underage’s are identified, the interface will send a transaction to SAP using a designated movement type to capture these debits or credits against the SAP inventory.
