  • So by taking the wall thickness reading more frequently, automatically, say twice a day instead of every few years or months, manually, you can see the metal loss and wall thickness in real-time and thus become much more predictive w.r.t. replacing piping to avoid loss of containment, what percentage of opportunity crude to use, or how much corrosion inhibitor to inject. This is what digital transformation with pervasive sensing is all about. Frequent automatic measurement with wireless sensors instead of infrequent manual checks with portable testers; the same applies to vibration, acoustics, temperature, fluid levels, and pressure drop etc. Learn more about corrosion monitoring from this essay: www.linkedin.com/.../your-corrosion-practices-getting-bit-rusty-jonas-berge

exactly, Jonas - if operators don't understand the current integrity of their assets, nor how they are coping with the ever-changing corrosion and erosion risks then how can they drive those assets to their maximum capability (and profitability). Permasense provides that visibility - wirelessly to desk - that then enables enhanced operational decision making - and maximised profitability.
