Steam: Do you know what impact it has on your operations?

A large refinery group we recently met with had never considered continuous steam trap monitoring, largely because they didn’t know a solution was available. Having said that, they were happy with the yearly visual inspections carried out by their internal team. We offered to carry out a trial on their most critical steam traps, which we identified through our ROI assessment model. Once installed, the stream trap monitors, immediately highlighted that approx. 25% of them were either blowing through steam (instead of just releasing condensate) or cold / plugged. Enabling our customer to provide timely remedial action has saved them hundreds of thousands of Euros.

Has anyone else found themselves in a similar situation as this?  Even in other industries perhaps?

It is a known fact that Steam accounts for up to 50% of a plant’s total energy costs. A staggering amount. Find out more about the Impact of failed steam traps on process plants in our White paper.
