just wanted to post some pictures of how you could also use our wireless equipments.
I was thinking alittle bit ouside the box here. Just look at the pictures maybe they give you some ideas of how the equipment can be justed.
(I don´t know if it´s allowed to use them in e.g. mines for gasdetection, propably not?)
I´ve justed our own control Wave "PLC"( http://www.documentation.emersonprocess.com/groups/public/documents/brochures/d351515x012.pdf) here in my examples because they can connect directly to the wireless network.
The controller can also be any other brand but then you would use a gateway for the communication on the field and connect the control-unit as in the last picture.

On the same note I would also add that it is quite often the case that the PVs from wireless transmitters do not go to the control system. Many of the applications for wireless is for equipment reliability, maintenance productivity, energy efficiency, and HS&E risk reduction. This is usually not the scope of the operators at the DCS console in the control room. Therefore, data in many wireless applications go to the reliability engineer, maintenance manager, energy manager, and HS&E officer in their office, which is beyond the control room. They may look at this data from the asset management system (AMS), the plant historian, or a simple HMI. Some sensors like vibration and steam trap monitoring uses special software.
